Experience five acres of pristine alpine beauty, global conservation, and quiet respite in the heart of Vail. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we offer free admission year-round—made possible entirely by the generous donations of visitors like you.

Getting here

The Gardens is located in Ford Park, east of Vail Village. Take exit 176 from I-70, head east on South Frontage Road and the Gardens are a 1/4 mile past the Vail Transportation Center. Parking is available at the Vail Transportation Center and Ford Park Parking Lot.

Landmarks:

  • Next to the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater
  • Below Ford Park athletic fields
  • Across the creek from Manor Vail Lodge and Golden Peak.

The Education Center is located to the west of the Gardens, adjacent to the Ford Park playground.

Walk: east along South Frontage Road to Ford Park, just past The Wren condominiums OR take the path alongside Gore Creek to Ford Park. 10-minute walk from Vail Village.

Parking

Vail Village Parking Structure: Exit 176, head east on South Frontage Road (resort side). Town enforced rate of $2/hour, first hour is free. Free after 3pm. The Gardens are located in Ford Park to the east of the parking structure, 7-10-minute walk.

Ford Park Parking Lot: Half mile east of the Vail Village parking structure. Park and follow the brick path down to the Gardens, 3-5-minute walk. Town enforced rate of $2/hour, first hour is free. In the summer, there is a $20 parking fee during events being held in Ford Park.

Visitor Information

Bus Information

Bus stops: Free in-town bus to Golden Peak, walk across the street through Manor Vail Lodge breezeway into Ford Park. Or take the Orange, Blue or Yellow bus routes to Ford Park bus stop and walk past the tennis courts into the Gardens.

Regional Bus Information

Traveling from the towns of Gypsum, Eagle, Edwards, Avon or Minturn? Visit the Eagle Valley Transit website for bus information. Most routes are free to accommodate Eagle County’s carbon emissions reduction goals.

Sloped Terrain

Please note, the Gardens is located on sloped terrain, with downhill paths into the site and an uphill walk back to the parking areas.

For the flattest access route, we recommend entering from Betty Ford Way, along Gore Creek from Vail Village, or via the Golden Peak/Manor Vail Lodge breezeway.

Refreshments

In the summer, light refreshments are available at the Schoolhouse Museum & Gift Shop located across from the main garden entrance. The Gardens are located within walking distance of local restaurants in Vail Village.

The closest restaurants to the Gardens are located at the Manor Vail Lodge and Avanti at Golden Peak.

Pets

Pets are permitted in the Gardens. They must stay leashed and on the paths.

ADA Accessibility

ADA Accessibility
The Gardens is mostly ADA accessible; we do not have wheelchairs available. ADA parking is available across from the Ford Amphitheater on Betty Ford Way with placard visible. Please note the garden pathways are natural uneven rock. Use caution.
