NICK COURTENS FUND

Sharing his knowledge with the community was part of the vibrant fabric of Nick Courtens. To honor Nick, Betty Ford Alpine Gardens has named its community education program in his honor. This named series, the Nick Courtens Series, continues his legacy of inspiring the community about the environment. Donate in Nick’s Memory Here.

This invested fund allows the Gardens to build and grow community education programs in Nick’s name while allowing these programs to be available at low cost to the community. Read the Vail Daily article  about the series here.

The community education programs will include programming like workshops, lectures, and expert guests. This is a chance for community members and guests to build their knowledge and expand connections with each other, just like Nick was always apt to do: sharing his knowledge and creating community wherever he went.

This year there are two events scheduled in the Nick Courtens series:

Exploring the South Island of New Zealand: Nick Courtens Series

JULY 10

From subalpine scree to temperate rainforest, explore the fascinating plant evolution and human influence on one of the most biodiverse archipelagos in the world. This event is underwritten by the Nick Courtens Fund.
