Guided Snowshoe: Vail Tales on Snowy Trails
Snowshoe through the scenic trails of Betty Ford Alpine Gardens with a naturalist guide. This intermediate-level tour takes you through the riparian ecosystem and across the Gardens’ stunning landscapes. Along the way, discover the fascinating history of Vail’s earliest residents and explore the unique alpine environment. Learn about the incredible adaptations of alpine plants and animals, and how you can help protect this fragile ecosystem. Afterward, warm up in the Education Center and enjoy our engaging permanent and rotating exhibits. Snowshoe and pole rentals are included. Advance registration is required to secure your spot.
Tour groups will be limited to 10 people. Meet your guide at the Education Center.

In-town bus: Blue East Vail bus to Ford Park or Yellow Golf Course bus to Golden Peak
Tips to prepare for your snowshoe:
- Check the weather report and wear appropriate clothing for the conditions
- Consider wearing base layers, warm socks, waterproof insulated boots, gloves, hat, snow or weatherproof pants
- Bring a water bottle
- Plan where you are going to park or which bus you will take. Allow time to walk to the Education Center in Ford Park.
