Cyanotype
Experience the magic of Cyanotype on this workshop hosted by local artist and educator Phoebe Brookes. Using the intense UV light of our high-altitude sun, you will learn how to create stunning “sun prints” by arranging garden-sourced botanicals on light-sensitive paper to produce striking Prussian-blue silhouettes. Phoebe will walk you through the basic chemistry and composition of this captivating process, demonstrating how different leaf shapes and flower structures create unique, ethereal patterns. This hands-on workshop is a wonderful way to explore the intersection of science, history, and art while creating one-of-a-kind botanical blueprints. Come discover how the power of the mountain sun can turn our living collection into a permanent work of art.
