Pollinator Hero Workshop

From a pollinators-eye view, learn how to create wildlife-friendly gardens that help combat the loss of open spaces and create green corridors that link your wildscape to larger natural areas by providing habitats for wildlife. Activities include Designing your garden using native plants and building a pollinator house.
Speaker – Jamie Weiss
Jamie Weiss is the Habitat Hero Coordinator for Audubon Rockies, a regional office of The National Audubon Society, an organization that has championed the protection of birds and their habitat for over a century. She combines her science and educational background to manage the Habitat Hero program, which focuses on engaging community members and businesses in actively restoring natural habitat for birds, butterflies, pollinators and other wildlife large and small.
Along with earning a B.S. in Marine Biology and Chemistry from University of North Carolina at Wilmington, she is also a Certified Interpretive Guide as appointed by the National Association of Interpretation. Jamie previously worked with Colorado Parks & Wildlife at Boyd Lake State Park and the Georgia Aquarium as an Educational Interpreter, providing families and individuals of all ages an awareness of conservation.
