Betty Ford Alpine Gardens offers guided education
programs for children weekly Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30am they run approximately mid-June through
mid-August. The programs are led by the garden's Garden and
Education Interns and are intended for children ages 5 to 10
years, though there are exceptions. All of the classes meet
in our Children's Garden amphitheater and are largely conducted
in this garden. A hands-on activity is always an integral
part of each program.
In the summer of 2007 the gardens held 10 programs. Some of the highlights were Seeds to Grow & Seeds to Blow, The Web of Life, and Adopt A Tree.
On May 16, 2007, more than 300 third-graders released butterflies they had grown from caterpillars into the garden. Check out the video from Plum TV.
This 2008 summer we invite you to explore our garden with self guided interactive 'Backyard Backpacks' or Play in the Soil at our Children's Gardening Area..
